#1 On March 24th a man was rushed to the San Juan de Dios Hospital in Costa Rica.
The man, 55, required emergency surgery to remove an 18-inch cassava root from his anus. The girth of the cassava root, which he carved into a phallic shape, was three inches.
#2 The root-dildo was stuck.
And worse, he had wrapped two condoms around it, but they both broke. Unprotected, the plant could potentially perforate his intestines and rectum, causing infection.
#3 The man's surgery lasted over an hour.
Doctors successfully removed the veggie dildo and performed reconstructive surgery to the man's intestines. The man's current condition is stable, and doctors believe he will make a full recovery because his rectum had not been torn by the incident.
