James Persyn was left home with his two younger siblings, an 11 year old sister and 2 year old brother, while his father went to pick up his girlfriend, just a couple of miles away.
#2 Quick Thinking
James thought quickly, and locked the front door and hurried everyone into the bathroom, then turned off all the lights and grabbed a small hunting knife that he got for Christmas. Telling the woman to call 911, he called his father, James Persyn Jr.
#3 Eric Ramsey
Police found the 30 year old ex-convit, James Ramsey, and in a struggle to apprehend him, shot and killed him. “If [James hadn’t] let her in, there’s no doubt in my mind that Ramsey would have ended up killing her."
#4 Knock At The Door
Suddenly, there was frantic pounding on the door and a terrified voice screaming for help. “Her voice was, like, she was going to die if I didn’t open that door,."
#5 Dad Saves The Day
James Ramsey Jr. arrived home, seeing his house lit in flames. As he tried to put out the fire, his kids ran out front door, and the woman was taken away in an ambulance.
#6 Assailant
The assailant tried to get inside, banging on the door and screaming, before pouring gasoline on the home and lighting it on fire with a match.
#7 Opened The Door
Cautiously, James opened the door to find a woman with bruises on her face, wrapped in packing tape with a broken arm against her body. “She’s like, ‘We gotta hide! There’s someone out there who just kidnapped me and he’s trying to kill me."
