#1 The best way to sit is in a relaxed position.

This means that your back leans against your back rest at an angle of about 100-135 degrees to your legs. Sitting in this way reduces stress on muscles and spinal disks.

#2 Growing up, we are told that the best sitting posture is a forced, rigid position.

Well, that's all wrong, actually. Sitting in this way will put unnecessary strain on the back, and so will hunching forward and slouching.
