And today we’ve got just the thing to take your Thanksgiving kitchen skills to the next level. While it’s great to focus on the side dishes and desserts, that can be a distraction. We want to help you make your turkey the most delicious it can be because that’s what your guests are going to remember.

And with the tips and kitchen hacks we have for you below, we’ll get you ready to rumble with the best Thanksgiving Day turkey you can imagine. Let’s get started now!

Armed with the techniques we’re introducing below, you’ll be able to finish your turkey exactly the way you like it, while making it more flavorful and delicious.

Chef Thomas Joseph from Kitchen Conundrums walks you through the steps of cooking a turkey so it will be juicy and delicious. His secret is simple. You’ll need to flip the bird!

Making your upside-down roasted turkey isn’t hard at all. And that simple trick will make it cook better than your sister-in-law’s or your neighbor’s.

Here are the ingredients you’ll want to craft the perfect Thanksgiving turkey this holiday season:
-1 fresh turkey – approximately 18 lbs
-1 unsliced loaf of bread
-1 stick of unsalted butter
-2 tablespoons salt
-2 teaspoons black pepper
-Spice blend (optional)
-Stuffing (optional)
-Butcher’s twine
-Roasting pan

Start by preheating your oven to 425 degrees. Take your loaf of bread, ideally from a local bakery, and cut off the top to level it. When you slice off the top hump, you’ll make it flat and perfect for a base.

Slice your loaf lengthwise. Make sure it is still connected via the middle seam. Flap it open and place it on the bottom of your roasting pan with the inside facing up. Now butter your bread loaf on the inside side facing up.

Now it is time to season your bird. Mix salt and pepper and sprinkle it all over and inside your Thanksgiving Day turkey.

TIP: If you want a different seasoning blend, do it now.
Fold the turkey’s neck skin under the body. Then rotate and tuck the tips of the wings so they rest under the bird’s breast.

Now tie the legs together with some butcher’s twine.

Then flip your bird. Place it on top of the bread. The top of the bird should be facing downwards. Season the underside of the turkey.

Legs first, place the turkey into the lowest lying rack in your oven. Cook for 45 minutes.

Remove the bird from the oven and lower the oven temperature to 350 degrees.

Insert a utensil into the bird cavity and flip the bird again. Turn the bird over, carefully, so it is breast side up.

Now roast your turkey again in the oven neck first and cook for another 90 minutes. Baste the bird every 15-20 minutes until the turkey is golden brown.

Remove the bird from the oven and check its internal temperature. If it is 165 degrees, it is done. Allow the bird to rest for 30 minutes before carving.

Driving Down Country Road Late At Night He Sees An Emergency, Reacts Quickly [video]

There is something about animals in need that brings out the best side of the human condition. We rescue stray kittens, we support wildlife conservation efforts, and sometimes, some of us go above and beyond to save a wild animal in danger.

Well we just found a Facebook post by a guy who saw a deer caught in a fence and saved it from certain peril. You are going to love his post.

Drew Kitchens was driving down a country road at night when he came upon a deer that got its leg caught in a fence. He videotaped it with his phone, and then got out to help it on its way.

When he posted the clip to Facebook, he wrote the following caption:

“Was very fortunate to save this little button buck tonight. Found him with his back leg hung in a fence. Luckily he hadn’t been hanging there long and wasn’t too much damage to his leg. Didn’t feel to good getting kicked in the stomach at the end but felt good knowing he wouldn’t be hanging there waiting for the coyotes to make an easy meal outta him.”

Kitchen’s video has been viewed over 15,000 times.

This reminded us of a similar rescue of a wild horse in Wales, UK. According to their YouTube page, it was shot on the Loughor Estuary marshland in Gower, South Wales. What you’ll see in the video is a mare and her foal, stranded on the marshland, in danger of the tide coming in.

Why won’t they leave this dangerous area? Because the mare has somehow gotten her back hoof caught in a matted tangle of her mane, preventing her from being able to walk. Who knows how long she has been there, but as you see her repeated attempts to get up, and subsequently fall down on her side, you can imagine that she has sustained some bruises and tenderness from this unfortunate circumstance. And now she is in even greater danger, and the tide is approaching the marshland.

RSPCA inspectors in the area noticed the mare and foal, with the foal galloping around its mother nervously, and were concerned. As you’ll witness in the video, their approach makes both the mare and foal even more agitated. The inspectors must gain the trust of these wild animals, and somehow prove to them that they are there to help, and not to harm them. They take their time and are able to approach the mare, pet her gently, and reassure her.

But even after getting her back hoof untangled from her mane, the mare isn’t able to get up and walk away. Even as the threat of the tide is encroaching on the situation. You can see her attempt to stand repeatedly, but it seems as though her predicament has caused her to lose some circulation in her hind quarters. After three or four tries, the mare is able to stand and slowly hobble away from the dangerous area. Her foal, ever encouraging and supportive, is prancing at her side, cheering her on.

Here’s The Common Kitchen Item That Blew Up And Nearly Killed Her Family. You Could Be Next. Warning

Many of you are probably familiar with the famous kitchen appliance, the pressure cooker.   This type of kitchen appliance is great for long cooked beans, rice, meats, and many other things that you would consider a staple in your kitchen.  There are some amazing recipes that you can use with this appliance, however they are not all sunshine and rainbows.

As you can guess, a pressure cooker uses high pressure in order to aide in the cooking process.  While this appliance may be extremely useful, it is also very dangerous due to the high pressure conditions that it creates.
In fact, these appliances can be so dangerous that they have been used to manufacture bombs, and have been shown to hurt people if they are used incorrectly.

One family wanted to share their story of a pressure cooker nightmare so that they could warn others about its dangers in hope of relieving them from the possibility of injury.

Cassie Hodges and her significant other Mark were figuring out what to eat for dinner like any other day, and that’s when Mark decided to make some simple soup in their pressure cooker.  The soup was in there for 25 minutes and was cooking away under the ‘soup’ function on the device.

Cassier had her kids all sit down at the dining room table, and she went back into the kitchen to help Mark get everything ready.

The couple had in mind that they needed to let the cooker release steam before they were to take off the lid and serve everybody at the table, but they had no idea what was about to happen.  They heard a click on the lid, and that was the moment that Cassie knew the lid was not locked.  The lid slid to the unlocked position, and then it exploded off the top of the cooker and a whole wave of boiling water and a lid came splashing onto Cassie, as well as Mark.

Cassie and Mark heard a loud sizzle, and they both yelled and screamed as they noticed their skin was peeling off.  Cassie ran into the shower and they called an ambulance as quickly as possible.  They tried to appear as if they were fine in front of their kids even though their skin was falling off.

12% of Cassie’s body was covered in burns, and when they took off the bandages they saw huge boils and blisters all around her chest and body. She was going to need to scrape them off with a rough towel and biobrane.

Cassie was going through weeks of this torture while trying to keep it together in front of her kids too.  Mark too suffered severe burns on his side.  They were a smaller area, but much deeper because his first priority was helping Cassie before he went to cool his burns.

The couple will survive, but it was a near death experience where they both could have been severely injured.  If you have a pressure cooker, make sure to use it correctly, have a high quality one, or simply to not use it at all.  Stay safe while cooking.

If you want to see more pictures of Cassie and Mark, check them out here and let us know if you use pressure cookers and what for down in the comments.

We Still Can’t Believe It’s Real, Famed 60s Actor Passes Away. You Will Be Missed

Beloved actor of television and silver screen, Robert Vaughn passed away Friday, days before his eighty fourth birthday. His long and successful career generated legions of admirers. He worked with almost every Hollywood legend, and rightfully deserves the title himself.
The actor, known best for his starring role in the 1960’s television show “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.”, died in Ridgefield Connecticut after a long fight with acute leukemia.
Robert Vaughn was born in New York City as the son of professional actors. His mother and father divorced when he was young and he spent much of his youth living with his grandparents in Minneapolis, Minnesota, while his mother was on tour.
He studied journalism for a year at the University of Minnesota before dropping out and moving to California to live with his mother. Soon, he enrolled in classes at Los Angeles State and graduated with a master’s degree in theatre.
His television debut was in 1955 in a small role on the show “Medic.” Vaughn would go on to appear in more than 2000 roles for television over his career.
His first film roles were in “The Ten Commandments” and “Hell’s Crossroad.” after being seen in a stage production of “End As A Man,” by legend Burt Lancaster, Vaughn signed with Lancaster’s production company.
Before they could capitalize on this however, Vaughn was drafted into the Army and spent two years as a drill instructor.
Returning to acting when his service was concluded, he began making impressive performances almost immediately. In 1959, Vaughn received an Academy Award nomination and won a Golden Globe for his supporting role in “The Young Philadelphians.” the next year, He starred in “The Magnificent Seven” and became a bona fide movie star.
In the mid 1960’s he was cast in the lead role for the television series “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” His character from that show, Napoleon Solo, became the defining role of his career. The espionage themed series ran 5 seasons, but Robert Vaughn continued to work in film at the same time. When the show ended in 1968, Vaughn landed a large role playing Chalmers, an ambitious California politician in the film Bullitt starring Steve McQueen. He was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Supporting Actor for this role.
He continued to work in film and television for the rest of his life. Although he had many great successes, Vaughn was not afraid to be critical of himself, calling some of what he did “junk.” But he was also self-contained; He could play the silliest stuff without it leaving a mark on him. His performance took the edge off the bad writing and filled up the good. It was never less than a pleasure to see and hear him.
He always considered himself politically active and identified himself as a “liberal Democrat.” Although he never ran for public office the way fellow actors Ronald Reagan, Martin Sheen, and Clint Eastwood did, he may have entertained the thought once or twice earlier in his life.
He was married to fellow actress Linda Staab, and together they adopted two daughters, Cassidy and Caitlyn.
What is your fondest memory of Robert Vaughn? Please share it, along with thoughts and prayers for his family, with us here.
