In 1994, O.J. was pursued by police in his white Bronco before going to trial for the murder of his wife. The pursuit lasted for about 90 minutes. He fled because detectives found evidence linking him to to the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.
#3 The Tragedy On September 11, 2001
Our hearts grow heavy at the thought of 9/11 when the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in lower Manhattan were completely destroyed by a terrorist attack. It wasn't clear what was happening at first, but when cameras caught a second plane hitting the South Tower, viewers began to understand the gravity of the tragic event.

Earnhardt died instantly when he crashed his vehicle in the final lap of the Daytona 500 in 2001. He is still considered to be one of the greatest racers of all time.

Last year, Steve Harvey had a major hiccup when he announced Ariadna Gutierrez, Miss Colombia 2015, as the winner of Miss Universe 2015. The real winner was Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, Miss Philippines 2015. Both women took the error with the utmost grace. Must have felt awkward for everyone.

The VMAs continue to shock and delight us year after year. In 2003, iconic pop star Madonna danced alongside sweetheart Britney Spears before pulling her into a French Kiss. Christina Aguilera got in on the action too, but most people don't seem to remember that bit.
#7 The Berlin Wall Falls Down
In a historic event, the Berlin Wall was finally torn down in 1989. The world watched as the long awaited unification of Germany finally came into fruition. The event was celebrated by German citizens and international supporters, who described the act as the physical strike against communism.
