#1 A Horrific Tragedy
'This is a horrific tragedy for our community,' said Albuquerque Police Chief Gorden Eden. 'I want to assure the public that we will pursue justice and we will make sure that we exhaust every resource into this investigation.'
Police informed that Victoria was injected with methamphetamine, sexually assaulted, strangled and stabbed, and then dismemebered.
#2 The 'Mother'
Michelle Martens, the mother of the 10-year-old New Mexico girl found dead and dismembered told police she sought men online and at work to sexually assault her daughter. She said that she had set up encounters with at least three men.
#3 The Monsters
One of the men was a co-worker, the other two she met online, on Plenty of Fish. The last one was Fabian Gonzales. Michelle, Gonzales, and Jessica Kelley — a cousin of Gonzales — all face charges in connection with the girl's death.
#4 She Enjoyed To Watch
When interrogated, Michelle told investigators she set up the sexual encounters because she took pleasure in watching. She didn't do it for the money,she stated.
#5 Victoria Martens
Victoria's dismembered body was found by the policeh. It was inside the apartment she lived in with her mother In New Mexico.
The very day Victoria was going to celebrate her 10th birthday, she was found murdered in the apartment, her body dismembered and wrapped in a burning blanket.
#6 Mourning
New Mexico is still in shock.
A lot of people gathered outside the Albuquerque apartment complex for a candlelight vigil on August 25.
How can anyone do something like this?
#7 Victoria And Her Brother
The criminal complaint states that the mother, who also has a younger son, made a confession, telling police Gonzales drugged the girl so he could 'calm her down' and have sex with her.
She said Kelley , Gonzales' cousin, held her hand over the child's mouth and she stabbed the girl in the stomach when Gonzales had choked her. Then she said that Gonzales and Kelley dismembered her.
In a plastic bag in a hamper near the kitchen they found some of the little girl's remains.
All three have previous criminal records.
