As you can see, he must have been there for quite a long time, since it's almost nighttime.

After one final attempt to climb back up, he falls. Everybody watching is extremely upset. What I can't figure out is how someone is filming and people can be heard in the background, yet nobody attempts to help the guy. How f--- up is that?
